I had this title around for a long time but never really had a song to go with it until I was fiddling around with a guitar slide in drop D tuning. The music is rather simple, but the story rings through. The story was originally inspired by the death of Jackson Pollock, but as I wrote more that theme was lost. It turned into the story of an old man who lived for his wife. When she’s gone he tries to fill his heart with whiskey and absinth and dies trying to drive to her cemetery.
