This song is written about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and the devastating effects it caused immediately after. The perspective is of a person suddenly blinded and in an atomic hell. The long solos in the song were rather difficult to write, the idea of a fuzz bass solo was the last thing we did with the song. Also I felt the harmonica mic vocals would really fit this song. I had heard that to really feel the blues you have to put yourself in someone else’s shoes.
